Construction Activities This Week: 12/13/18 - 12/20/18
  • The project has reached substantial completion, however, additional work activities will take place through December. Due to requests by the snow-plowing team in the area, portions of the concrete median just north of SR-193 are being adjusted to better accommodate plows. Saw-cutting has now taken place, and demolition is expected to begin on Wednesday, Dec. 19. Weather permitting, the new concrete will be poured before Christmas. One lane closure in each direction will be in place for about two weeks while the area is prepped, concrete is poured, and as the concrete cures under blankets.
  • Extensive drainage activities are taking place at Syracuse Junior High. To accommodate this work, the back parking lot will be closed intermittently through December 20, weather permitting.
  • Final permanent striping is scheduled to be installed on the roadway on Sunday, Dec. 16. No traffic control is anticipated for this work, but motorists are advised to use extra caution while driving in the area and to watch for construction personnel on-site.
  • Landscaping work is completed for the year. Any outstanding landscaping work that remains will be taken care of next spring.

Schedules are subject to change due to inclement weather, equipment issues, or other unforeseen circumstances.

Utility Shutoffs
  • Utility companies may schedule intermittent shutoffs to accomplish their work. They will provide advance notice where applicable.
  • CenturyLink is planning to do extensive utility work along the SR-108 project corridor. They are utilizing Fugal as a subcontractor for the job. If you have any questions or concerns regarding CenturyLink, please reach out to Brian May with Fugal at: 801-394-3752.
Traffic Alerts
  • Intermittent turn lane, shoulder, and median restrictions may occur.
West Point Batch Plant Operations
  • The West Point Batch Plant near 75 North and 2000 West is now closed. We appreciate the patience of nearby residents in dealing with any inconveniences the batch plant may have caused during its operations. Thank you!
